Website flipping is not the easiest way to make money from home. Determining a profitable website is not easy in the first place.  If you are looking to flip it for higher profit within a short time frame, that is a separate task. The good news is that with the correct steps and procedures, it is possible even for even the novice of novices to acquire a good site with great potential to start off.

First things first. We have to do some ground work. We must first determine if a website is worth the investment by analyzing how many income streams it has. For example, the majority of websites have more than one income channel. These streams of income can range from Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertisements (eg. Google Adsense, etc.), Pay-Per-Sale programs (eg. SOSComplete!) or selling of own products. The main purpose of this step is to analyze the profitable channels which currently exist on the website, and see if we have an avenue to expand, or add in other sources of income. Write this down. When it comes to making money from home with a website, never, ever, rely only on one income source.

Next, we need to find out where these visitors are coming from. Most websites which we would consider should have a healthy amount of constant traffic from the search engines, followed by social networks, and regular visitors. If you notice that  the majority of the web traffic is being generated by the search engines, make sure that you determine which keywords are driving traffic to the website. Next, conduct a search, and see for yourself where the website is ranking for these keywords. Additionally, I always check the age of the website. Often times unethical website owners are able to use techniques which are banned by the search engines, such as link spamming, in order to receive temporarily high rankings. However, once the search engines become aware us such unscrupulous tactics, they will either drop the website from the search results, or ban it from the search engine all together.

The following step is to highlight any area of possible future improvements which you will be able to make to the website. If you can come out with at least two quick fixes to the website which can potentially increase the value to any potential visitors, this is a plus. For example, if you can include an online tool to calculate the financial networth of a person in a financial blog, that would most likely benefit all your readers in a long run.

The fourth step is to check for Page Rank and back links to the website which you will potentially purchase.  Page Rank is actually a Google term. It signifies with a number from 0-10, how important Google views the website as being. This value is highly correlated with the number of back links which point to the website. I highly recommend that you use checkpagerank.net to do this. They tend to be very accurate in measuring both back link quantity and validating Page Rank.

With the above four steps, you should be able to make money from home in no time.

Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
